工作论文:
Major-Specific Labor Market Size and Job Match Quality among College Graduates
Using U.S. college graduate data from the American Community Survey, this paper examines how the size of major-specific labor markets relates to degree and major match quality. Larger major-specific labor markets are associated with better matches, with benefits that diminish as overall city size increases; instrumental-variable estimates and occupational diversity analyses provide further evidence on these relationships.
Major-Specific Labor Market Size and Job Match Quality among Power Couples
This paper examines how major-specific labor market size relates to job match quality among couples in which both spouses are college graduates. It explores whether larger markets for each spouse’s field of study help couples find jobs aligned with their education, highlighting the role of specialized labor markets in addressing the challenges of matching two careers within one location.
Learning from Past Forecast Errors: Hurricane Belief Updating in U.S. Coastal Counties
This project investigates how past hurricane forecast errors shape responses to subsequent warnings and disaster losses in U.S. coastal counties. It combines local histories of false alarms and unexpected storm exposure with protective expenditure data to examine learning, memory decay, and differences in responses across communities.
Child Composition and Household Financial Asset Allocation
Using the 2019 China Household Finance Survey, this paper examines how the number, age composition, and gender of children relate to household financial asset allocation. Preliminary findings associate more children, a higher share of young children, and the presence of sons with lower risky asset exposure, and explore precautionary saving and planned home purchases as potential explanations.
